Milling: analysis of a complex detail
Experience, passion, teamwork: this is our expertise that comes to live into the creation of complex details.
Every single element that we put into production is the synthesis of all our experience as well as the teamwork of various specialized professional figures.
Today, we want to take you right into the heart of our production, describing the individual steps implemented to create the type of 8-shaped flange that you see in the image.
Starting from a semi-finished product
The flange has as its peculiarity a series of very complex processes also dictated by very stringent geometric and shape tolerances.
The most challenging machining processes of this component are the cooling slots, the inclined radial bores combined with respect for the planarity and parallelism of the surfaces.
Different types of raw materials
In our work, the selection of raw materials is fundamental.
The flange is produced in several versions implementing a wide range of materials from construction steel to the austenitic and martensitic stainless-steel families.
Based on the steel family, dedicated tooling has been designed and manufactured to allow us to carry out the processes in compliance with the tolerances required according to the drawing.
The importance of having reliable suppliers
Some flanges require specific treatments for which we rely on our supply chain of historic and loyal suppliers.
The treatments usually performed can be varied, form classic heat treatments, to stress-relieving treatments for welded assembly constructions and anti-corrosion surface treatments such as chemical nickel plating.
All this, while also taking advantage of the consolidated relationships and mutual respect cultivated over the years with our suppliers.
A cutting-edge company
With more than 40 years of activity, Dierre is a company specialized in precision mechanics with high technological value.
The company offers CNC turning, milling and grinding, the creation of complex small/medium sized mechanical parts in small/medium series batches and the assembly of mechanical parts.
The raw materials used are numerous, including stainless steels, special steels, copper, aluminum, bronze, cast iron, brass and plastic materials.https://www.dierre-srl.com/en/production/
